ARLINGTON — TCU didn’t have its bazooka, an acrobatic Quentin Johnston catch, or even an old-fashioned quarterback sneak Saturday afternoon.
The Horned Frogs didn’t need a miracle AT&T Stadium. They needed a yard.
Now, they might need a miracle.
Kansas State survived TCU’s comeback effort this time around and won the Big 12 championship 31-28 on an overtime field goal after TCU was unable to score on two plays from the 1-yard line.
The third-ranked Frogs lost for the first time this season in their 13th game, and now their next step is out of their hands.
The College Football Playoff committee will determine where and when TCU will play next, a proposition that makes Frogs fans want to vomit.
