TCU point guard Mike Miles Jr. was named to the watch list for the Bob Cousy Award on Monday by the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame on Monday. Miles, who was also named the Big 12 Preseason Player of the Year, is the Big 12’s top returning scorer, and was the only player to finish in the top six in points and assists a season ago.

Per a TCU press release, the Bob Cousy Award is named after former Boston Celtic and Holy Cross guard Bob Cousy. The annual honor, now in its 20th year, recognizes the top point guard in Division I men’s college basketball. A national committee of top college basketball personnel determined the watch list of 20 candidates. Players can play their way onto and off the list at any point in the 2022-23 season. The last Horned Frog to be named to the watch list for the Bob Cousy award was Alex Robinson in 2018.

Miles and TCU will open the season with an exhibition game against Paul Quinn on Oct. 30 at 4 p.m. Admission is free to enter. The Horned Frogs begin the regular season at home on Nov. 7 against Arkansas – Pine Bluff.
