After getting the opportunity to visit with TCU’s latest 2023 commit, Kylan Salter, he had one quick and simple thought that really spoke volumes about what we can expect with the revamped Joe Gillespie defense for the Horned Frogs.

“With me watching film, as a linebacker, coach Gillespie just told me that he doesn’t want me to have to think,” Salter said. “I really like the defense because I won’t have to do a lot of thinking.”

The Cedar Hill High School product has no problem being cerebral, if need be. The rising senior has already taken quite a few classes this summer in order to graduate after the fall semester and enroll at TCU in January.

He did all of this while rehabbing an ACL injury he suffered April 9. Due in large part to Salter’s work ethic, the stealthy linebacker is way ahead of the normal nine to 12 months it takes to fully recover.
