ARLINGTON — The elephant in the room this week at the Big 12 football media days was conference realignment.

The Big 12 needs to act fast, both in finding teams to add and possibly giving Texas and Oklahoma an early boot to the SEC.

There was another figurative animal at AT&T Stadium, a 220-pound gorilla from the TCU perspective.

For the first time since the Horned Frogs joined the Big 12, Gary Patterson was not their football coach at media days.
