The danger of having a successful season is the potential loss of assistant coaches, and the TCU staff has been raided for the first time.
It’s a big one.
A source confirmed that offensive coordinator Garrett Riley, who turned the Horned Frogs into a juggernaut and quarterback Max Duggan into the Heisman Trophy runner-up, has been hired to the same post at Clemson.
Riley, the Broyles Award winner as the nation’s top assistant coach, did not return a message from Frogs Today. But a source said that Riley will receive a substantial raise at Clemson, which won national titles in 2016 and 2018.
TCU played Monday for the College Football Playoff National Championship, losing 65-7. The Frogs finished No. 2 in the Associated Press and coaches polls.
