Richard Johnson certainly knows the landscape of college football, and after watching TCU play four times in person in 2022, he knows TCU, too.

Johnson will be on the coverage of the Fiesta Bowl, so we caught up with him before he heads to Glendale to look at the matchup between the Horned Frogs and Michigan, as well as talk big-picture implications of TCU’s 2022 season on recruiting, national respect and life in the soon-to-be new-look Big 12.

Johnson believes TCU is in for a challenge against the most physical team they’ve faced this season, but behind stars Quentin Johnston and Max Duggan, can hold their own in the desert.

“TCU is stepping up as far as a level of physicality with Michigan,” he said. “Like, you could slice it any way you want: this Michigan team is serious.”
