You’re probably familiar with Landry Burdine. Maybe you know him as the captain of TCU’s Sun Bowl team that knocked off USC and ushered in a new era of Horned Frogs football.
Or maybe he’s one of the voices in your ear on Saturday afternoons in the fall as a part of the award-winning team, along with our Brian Estridge and John Denton, calling TCU football games on the radio.
Or maybe he’s one of your favorite characters on Twitter, sharing his thoughts and opinions, and bragging on his three kids.
You might have encountered him in different places, but if you’re a TCU fan, it’s highly likely you’re familiar with him in one way or another.
As someone who played for TCU during the days of Dennis Franchione and Gary Patterson and has covered the Frogs for a decade, he offers a unique perspective on what TCU was and what the new era might be like for Horned Frogs football.
“I was not a great player by any means, and I never want anybody to think that,” Burdine said. “I just wanted to see the field. That was my initial goal. The fact that I was picked as a captain by my peers, still to this day is the greatest honor I’ve ever had.”
