LOS ANGELES ― When Sonny Dykes took the head coaching job at TCU, he brought several members of his staff from SMU with him.

One of those staffers will be on the other sideline Monday night when the Frogs take on Georgia in the College Football Playoff National Championship.

Chidera Uzo-Diribe spent just 10 weeks as TCU’s defensive line coach before moving on to become Georgia’s outside linebackers coach. Although his time with the Frogs was short-lived, he’s familiar with Dykes, the staff and some of the players from his time at SMU.

“Definitely appreciate Sonny, man. I wouldn’t be here without him,” Uzo-Diribe said. “So, you know, definitely thankful to Sonny.”
