ARLINGTON — The transfer portal.

The ability to monetize through Name, Image and Likeness.

The world event that led to an extra year of eligibility for all.

The draw of life-changing money in the NFL.

The trend of sitting out postseasons to prepare for the draft.

The storylines of recruiting — committing, de-committing, and, of course, committing again … and possibly again.

The “look at me” mentality of star players.

The multi-million dollar facility arms race, the hundreds of millions in television contracts and the ever-evolving landscape of conference realignment and “re-realignment.”

There is a lot in college football that one can point to that isn’t “right,” and criticism of the loss of deep-rooted love for the game abounds.

Enter TCU quarterback Max Duggan. His grit, toughness and leadership displayed between the lines is matched off the field.
