FORT WORTH – Often we can take the holidays and time with family for granted.
That isn’t the case this year for TCU as the women’s team heads into the Christmas break on high note after a 75-32 rout Wednesday over Nicholls State.
A year ago it did not feel like Christmas at all for coach Raegan Pebley’s squad. After defeating No.18 Texas A&M on Dec. 12, 2021, TCU had to cancel its next three games because of COVID and did not return to the court until Jan. 2.
It was a stop down that really threw a wrench in their season.
“Last year’s Christmas was in quarantine. Our entire team was pretty much in quarantine in hotels by themselves,” Pebley said. “Everyone had to cancel plans, I was driving around dropping off food and gingerbread houses that they could make, trying to find a way to bring some kind of joy into a bad situation.”
